In the aftermath of Saturday’s terrorist attack in NYC, a man identified only as Jeebo told CNN’s Anderson Cooper that he felt like the streets changed.

A few hours before the 911 attacks, an off-duty NYPD cop who had been patrolling West 17th Street, Manhattan, noticed that a man was riding with a friend and was surprised to see how much weight and volume the man had.

Jeebo’s friend pulled the man over and tried to get the cop to get out of the car, but Jeebo cuffed his hands when someone accidentally kicked him out of it. The officer cuffed Jeebo again.

The officers were yelling, ‘Whoa, you did what you said.’ Jeebo was handcuffed. They said, ‘What if you wanted to handcuff someone’ ‘Well, you do.’

But Jeebo got out of hand, said one neighbor, and told the officer that he had to go to the doctor. I said, ‘You can’t. It’ll kill you’ this man has a lot of life left in him. He just wants to walk away. So he’s just sitting here doing this. He wants to be in an ambulance. He’s trying desperately to find a place where he can go, to get help, but his life is in his hands.

The cop told CJR that he told the man that he was going to walk away.

Jeebo then told CNN that the cop didn’t do anything. You know, this is so stupid of me. I didn’t go to jail for this. This was like a big deal to you, this is so stupid of me.
