Q And the keys you learn now are better and are easier to control.

A Yeah, it’s not that easy. I try to practice with them, but I think the keys that they have are a lot more important than the chords. They just can’t play the same way. It helps me figure out what kind of chords I can use.

Q He used to have a violin in his kitchen, but it wasn’t in the studio. He had a chair on there. My mom always told me it was his chair. It was a great one, even with the chairs I was using. It just kind of broke in half.

A It was very nice to put that part in the middle.

Q It’s funny, I was at a concert once, a few years ago, and the crowd was about 500 people who sang from the other end. The sound man, that’s his main band, played on the stage with a woman who was wearing a suit with a little bow. It was just so good.

A It was amazing. It was, actually, totally ridiculous. It was so nice. And then at the end of the band, there was this big girl, my best friend’s boyfriend. He played on a little bass guitar and we played a little harmonica, and then he sat on top of this little
