Do you have a passion for the subject

I have a lot of passion. I just took the violin in 2010. I had never really done an instrument since I was 12. I was pretty good at it, but didn’t even know much about it And as I was finishing the first piece, so much of the passion started when I was going into my early 30s, it was very exciting.

I’ve always felt like I’m the only one who can get it from one instrument to the next. The violin is such a small part of what makes it special… the beautiful instruments. I’ve tried to make it my life’s work to go with more than one instrument.

How did your love for playing get to where you were playing at age 20

I was playing my father’s violin at age 19 at the National Symphony Orchestra, where I got up just outside of New York City and went out. I came home, my father took me to the orchestra and gave me a violin in front of my mother, which was her favorite. When they gave me a violin, I knew I could be a great pianist of my own. I wanted it to be a piece of art.

You had no violin experience when you learned how to play your own instrument.

Yes, I was a pianist. I had never played with any pianists before. But like any pianist, with a piano, I tried to figure out some music. And so I played. I found it really interesting how I could play my violin with a pianist.

What was your favorite piece at school

The classical piece, which I played at the Conservazion de Cournie of New York. I would sing for the whole country and I’d take a stand. I didn’t know where the audience was but I thought that it was cool that we were doing that with the classical pieces and with our own country pieces on top. And so for me, it was very refreshing that we was doing a piece on the classical piece and I got a small piece. I didn’t really have the time to play that piece for more than a minute or two. And so after that it was my turn.

What other instruments do you prefer

I’m a little bit into the classical stuff like I am with my dad or my mother’s orchestra. There are two kinds
