At this time, we don’t know, and are awaiting more information from UNDP. However, we will update this post to be as accurate as possible. It is not an accurate estimate, and we would like to see it at the top of the page.
Why are there no UN grants for Syria
For years the United Nations and the Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) have been providing aid to Syrian rebels. These are largely dependent on UN funds.
This led to UN sanctions against several non-sponsors including Iraq, North Korea and Iran.
The United Nations and other bodies have limited powers. The UN Security Council (UNSC) is the only power that could veto the resolution. However, this means that UN resolution 546 can be overridden if it is more than 200 miles away from the place.
The recent UN resolution passed this afternoon makes it illegal for a UN-sponsored country such as a US member state that can not meet its obligations under its constitution to pay its share of a Syrian government budget.
For a simple calculation, a country that supports Assad must, by law, spend 15 million. A country that does not would also have the same rights to veto.
Since the US vetoed UN Security Council Resolution 58 in February, there have been attempts by countries that support Assad to reduce its capacity to use chemical weapons, and their willingness to pay more than 100 million to the government at least until UN resolution 546 ends.
Does the UN give aid to Syria
The United Nations provided UN weapons (often small arms) in a 2013 agreement with Russia.
At this point, the government in Damascus had no idea how to use it in a situation that could cause the death of thousands across Damascus, and even the lives of Syrian civilians.
But the Syrian government has come up with an explosive plan and plans to attack the United Kingdom.
The government has put out a media release calling on the United Kingdom to cease support of opposition rebels. In doing so they are now using chemical weapons.
The United States has also shown more flexibility under the UN agreement by making it less difficult for rebels to attack U.S-made aircraft that use mustard gas.
Why are Syria not receiving the weapons it needs
There are not many weapons that the United States receives from it.
The UN General Assembly has made it illegal for Syria to purchase or receive weapons.
